Galyatető lies at the second highest point of the Mátra Mountains - 956 meters above sea level-
, but the highest-lying hotel in Hungary. It's preserved 20th century traditions but being clad in
brand new attire. It is both a wellness-conference hotel, “ experience-hotel “ of four seasons,
where everything is new, except the fresh air. Its mild sub-alpine climate and crystal-clear
fresh air have a health-giving effect, which is combined with a yearly number of hours of
sunshine much above the national average.
Grandhotel Galya was built in 1937-39 in this wonderful landscape, in the middle of a
lovely, 5 acre park, surrounded by forests.

Why is this place worth visiting all year round?

Because the hotel has rooms with special features, in some of which we can lie down in front of the fireplace, or can take a bath in the Jacuzzi located in the middle of the bedroom, or can get lost in the wonderful panorama of the Mátra through the window stretching from wall to wall;
Because the sports opportunities of the area are endless – in the summer hiking tours in the forest, carriage riding and walks; and in the winter the hotel’s own ski course, and getting acquainted with the forest on a horse-drawn sledge provide great experience for everybody;
Because the Aqua-park, the gravel-bed Kneipp tread-pool, the salt chamber and the bubble bath offer special surprises;
Because the mountain air contributes to the cure and regeneration of the respiratory system;
Because the ladies’ pleasure – aroma bathing – and the ladies’ wellness weekends beautify the otherwise already beautiful appearance of the fairer sex, renewing the interior harmony;
Because the Mediterranean Mátra and the elegant Panorama Restaurants offer tasty and various dishes;
Because we can spend the highest number of sunny hours either on the huge terrace, or in the 5 hectare park, enjoying the sight of nature;

In its elegant environment, with a large, panorama terrace, breathtaking view of the Mátra, Panoráma Restaurant offers Hungarian dishes and game specialities, while Mátra Restaurant welcomes you with a terrace and an observation kitchen, offering a wide assortment of Latin dishes in its hall and terrace with a special atmosphere
You can have refreshments in the pool bio bar. Our lobby bar offers pleasant evening relaxation.
Campfire parties, grill parties, wine-tasting with the inauguration of the wine-general, standing receptions, gala dinners – under the supervision of famous chefs.

Informacje dla podróżujących

From Budapest: exit M3 at kilometre marker 70 km, in the direction of Gyöngyös-Hort, then – in Gyöngyös – turn at the Mátrafüred/Parád sign. Following this, looking for the Galyatető sign, you will reach the hotel after approximately 28 km. From Budapest by coach: along the Budapest - Gyöngyös - Galyatető line. Transfer is possible in Gyöngyös or Pásztó, but there is also direct service from Népstadion.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 4 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 26.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
EUR 1.20 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included.

Internet: Wired internet is available in the hotel rooms only and costs EUR 11.00 per hour.

Meal Plan: Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.

Parking: Free Public parking is possible on streets nearby (reservation is needed).
